Hi there, and welcome to my website. Take a look around and let me know if I can answer any questions.

I was born and raised in the Eastern Shore town of Ocean City, Maryland growing up in a house about ninety feet from the Atlantic Ocean. My parents were in the hotel business and owned a grand old property on the boardwalk. As a child, when the hotel closed following the summer tourist season, my parents would take the family on extended motor trips across the country. I have loved to travel seeing new places and people ever since. It was on these trips that I found myself wanting to capture the many wonders along the way, so I began to snap photos, sketch, and started painting.

I came west to Colorado for college and graduated from the University of Denver then took my place in the family business and migrated between Ocean City in the summer and Singer Island, Florida in the winter.  I continued to paint and managed to pick up some classes to help develop my eye and technique.

My husband Gerry stepped onto the canvas in 1976 and we were soon married.  He is a musician and entertainer, he cooks, and doesn't seem to mind a wife who would rather paint that do domestic chores.  For over thirty years we have been two artists living under the same roof managing to stay out of each others way...usually.

We have lived and worked in Tuscaloosa, Alabama;Panama City, Florida;and now in Denver. I absolutely love the mountains and do believe that if Colorado had an ocean, it would be just about perfect!

When it comes to painting,I love to paint the quiet places...the ones that nourish the soul and spirit;the ones where we can escape and explore.  Still, there are other times when I am drawn to depicting the beauty of dramatic storms and violent weather conditions. More than anything, I paint so that I might share a glimpse of the magnificence of creation: a moment, a place, or a special thought and bring it to the eyes and heart of the viewer.

I paint landscapes and seascapes in a realistic and yet sensitive style. The sky plays an important role in my paintings with its ever changing colors and patterns of motion.

My goal as an artist is to depict the wonders of nature with great detail from the mightiest of mountains to the smallest of wildflowers.  I want the viewer to look at the painting and feel that they could walk right into it and see what is hiding just around the corner just out of sight.
